EPTA Conference 2021
Deadline: 28th February 2021
Pentecostal Ministries: Cultures, Genders, and Roles
The European Pentecostal Theological Association is seeking proposals for papers to be presented at the 2021 annual conference. The meeting is organised as a hybrid event and will take place at the College of Theology and Social Sciences in Warsaw, Poland from 5 to 8 July 2021. Due to ongoing uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, a final decision by the EPTA executive will be made in January 2021 about whether the conference will be held as a hybrid or an online only event. Either way, the event will take place and further information about the conference (e.g. registration) will be provided once the decision has been made.
The conference explores the diversities, promises, and challenges of Pentecostal ministries with emphasis on the place of cultures, nationalities, and languages, concerns of gender in Pentecostal churches, leadership, and theology, as well as the various identities and roles of Pentecostal ministries worldwide. The theme invites presentations on historical reflections, present-day analysis, or forward-looking explorations of the future of Pentecostal ministries. EPTA encourages research and reflection on Pentecostal movements worldwide and invites theological, biblical, historical, and interdisciplinary presentations on a range of topics. Preference is given to proposals that relate to the conference theme.
Proposals should be 300-500 words in length and include (1) the paper’s title; (2) author’s name, institutional affiliation, and email address; (3) an abstract or summary of the argument; (4) preference for either a 60 minute or 30 minute presentation (the timings include a 20 minute or 10 minute Q/A slot respectively). Proposals should be sent by 28th February 2021 to Simo Frestadius, Chair of EPTA, at [email protected]. We expect to notify people whether their proposals have been accepted by 31st March 2021.
