The Journal publishes research papers, short communications and reviews on current developments in enzymology, cell biology, chemical biology, microbiology, physiology, pharmacology leading to drug design, molecular recognition processes and distribution and metabolism of biologically active compounds. This open access journal publishes high-quality and concise research articles reporting the sequence of full mitochondrial genomes, and rapid communications focusing on the physical, chemical, and biochemical aspects of mtDNA and proteins involved in mtDNA metabolism and interactions.
Mitochondrial DNA Part B: Resources publishes high quality mitochondrial DNA announcement papers (short reports on whole mitochondrial DNA genomes) and rapid communications. It is the open access sister journal to Mitochondrial DNA Part A. The journal considers high-quality rapid communications on the following topics:
• Physical, chemical, and biochemical aspects of mtDNA and proteins involved in mtDNA metabolism, and/or interactions
• Population genetics, phylogenetics and human evolution that use mitochondrial DNA as a source of evidence for studies
