As information technology is rapidly evolving and widely being applied, people have more channels to get data. With these real and objective data, as well as the advanced big data analytics, decision makers can make decisions more rationally and efficiently. Companies can quickly respond to the change of market environment and meet customer demand in time. The government can reduce the impact of artificial and subjective factors on decision-making, and provide better public services. Moreover, we are facing the future impact of 5G technology to industries. There is a real necessity for organizations to harness the power of big data analytics, machine learning and statistical learning methods to transform decision-making process. Data-driven decision making is important for having a more scientific and more efficient decision-making process.
