Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems

Now an Open Access Journal

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems is converting to Open Access from its 2021 volume

Mathematical and Computer Modelling (MCMDS) brings together engineers and scientists working in different areas of application and/or theory where researchers can learn about recent developments across engineering, environmental systems, and biotechnology amongst other fields. As MCMDS covers a wide range of application areas, papers aim to be accessible to readers who are not necessarily experts in the specific area of application.

The efforts of the Editor-in-Chief, Founding Editor, Associate Editors, Editorial Board members, and MCMDS’s wider community of authors, readers and reviewers, has enabled the journal’s on-going success.

As part of this transition, all manuscripts received after 20th October 2020 will proceed through MCMDS’s new Open Access submission portal. Authors who submit after this date will be required to pay an article publishing charge (APC) which can be covered by an author’s funder or institution.

Interested authors should visit the Routledge/Taylor & Francis Open Access Members and Open Access Agreements pages in case they are based at an institution that may have funds available to authors wishing to publish in MCMDS. Interested readers may also want to consider signing up to receive latest article alerts to MCMDS to keep up-to-date with the latest research.

We look forward to receiving your submissions and hope you join us to embrace MCMDS' Open Access future.

"High visibility and easy accessibility of published research is of utmost importance for many authors of MCMDS. With the change to open access, we are confident that we will broaden the journal’s readership and attract more researchers in the field of mathematical modelling of complex dynamic systems to publish their high quality results in MCMDS."

Dr. Wolfgang Kemmetmüller, Editor-in-Chief

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems is particularly interested in receiving manuscripts on:

Submissions are highly welcome which present:

  • new modelling ideas
  • comparison of models and modelling approaches
  • theoretic aspects of modelling
  • papers dealing with complex real-world applications, which present the purpose of the model and the process of model calibration and validation.

Potential authors should note that the focus of MCMDS is on new modelling methods and/or new applications of modelling to complex real-world systems.

Why Publish Open Access?

  • Increase the visibility and readership of your research.
  • Impact beyond the academy - your article is accessible to anyone, anywhere (including readers in industry and policy-makers).
  • Freely share your work without restrictions or paywalls.
  • Retain ownership of your research through unrestrictive publishing agreements.
  • Discounts and waivers are available for researchers in developing countries. The journal also considers requests for discretionary APC waivers. Find out if your institution or country has an open access agreement to publish with Taylor & Francis.

Mathematical and Computational Modelling of Dynamical Systems welcomes submission of original manuscripts dealing with complex real-world applications, which present the purpose of the model and the process of model calibration and validation. Potential authors should note that the focus of MCMDS is on new modelling methods and/or new applications of modelling to complex real-world systems.
