About the prize

Journal of Development Studies is proud to be able to award the Dudley Seers Prize, valued at £1,500, annually for the best article(s) published in the journal.

All articles published in the relevant volume are eligible. Special weight will be given to analytical originality and interdisciplinarity. Nominations for consideration for the Prize are made by the Managing Editors and a panel of judges is drawn from members of the Editorial Board. The outcome is announced in the Journal.
