About the prize
Since 2015, this annual award for the best manuscript published in print in Maritime Policy & Management is selected by the Editorial Board based on academic value and contribution.
The award of GBP £1,000 sponsored by Taylor and Francis was announced at this year’s IAME 2019 conference in Athens, Greece.
The 2018 winning article:
"The Editorial Board of MPM are delighted to announce that that the manuscript selected this year is “The environmental costs and economic implications of container shipping on the Northern Sea Route” by Shengda Zhu, Xiaowen Fu, Adolf K.Y. Ng, Meifeng Luo & Ying-En Ge published in Volume 45 No 4.
We have chosen to present the award at IAME 2019 to reflect the close relationship the journal has with IAME (International Association of Maritime Economists) for which MPM is an official journal."
