Cultural, lifestyle and social entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship and small business is context dependent, which affects the success of business ventures. Increasingly there has been interest in culture as a way of understanding how language, symbols and behaviour affect entrepreneurship. Due to the variety of cultural contexts in the international business environment, it becomes important to focus on the way culture affects entrepreneurial intention. This can occur at the individual, business, community or regional level depending on the situation. Lifestyle reasons for entrepreneurship are also a way of understanding cultural conditions in society. For some, work/life balance is important and this determines the kind of business ventures they are involved in. The connection to the environment is crucial for others with eco-entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship being popular. The aim of this special journal issue is to examine the role of cultural, lifestyle and social entrepreneurship. Examples of potential areas papers can focus on include:
- Culture, cultural and societal entrepreneurship
- Social entrepreneurship and non-profit management
- Lifestyle entrepreneurship
- Sport and tourism entrepreneurship
- Regional development
- Community entrepreneurship
- Entrepreneurial ecosystems
