Call for Special Issue Proposals

The Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies

The Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies (JIRS) invites proposals for Special Issues in the wider field of migration and refugee studies. Special Issues that are innovative theoretically or empirically and that cover regions outside Europe and North America, in a comparative perspective, are particularly welcome.

The deadline for submitting a proposal is 15 January 2021.

Submitted proposals should include:

  • The rationale of the Special Issue: main analytical framework, explaining how the Special Issue is more than the sum of its parts and outlining the rationale for including the specific papers, highlight innovative aspects and how the SI advances the state of the art in the field (1500-2000 words);
  • Short paper abstracts (300-350 words per abstract, including methodology and expected findings);
  • Short biographical notes of editors and contributors
