Journal of Contemporary East Asia Studies is an open access journal offering in-depth studies of contemporary East Asia. It is the official journal of the Waseda Institute of Contemporary Chinese Studies based out of Waseda University in Japan. The primary aim of the journal is to foster diverse perspectives on the major sub-areas of contemporary East Asia through the publication of both local and international authors. Journal of Contemporary East Asia Studies publishes research that covers political, economic, and social developments in contemporary East Asia
