Virtual Special Issue: Industry 4.0

By Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers

The ultimate goal of Industry 4.0 is achieving ‘production-on-demand’ where e-commerce platforms and retail chains are able to predict consumer demands and produce accordingly. Once products are delivered, customers can give an evaluation of the product through customer-relation-management platforms. In order to achieve this goal, manufacturers are first required to understand consumer behavior by collecting necessary data from the internet of things (IoT) and integrating this data with their product line.

In terms of production, Taiwan is recognized as the home of Original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) and Integrated Circuits (IC) fabrication. 10 renowned research groups in Taiwan were invited to contribute manuscripts and 8 out of 10 are featured in this special issue.

Articles are free to view until 30 June 2019.
