Public Administration and Policy in Vietnam

International Journal of Public Administration (IJPA), published by Taylor & Francis (Routledge), is a triple blind-refereed, scholarly publication that presents a forum for academicians and practitioners in diverse areas of public administration and public policy, governance, organization theory and behavior, public management, nonprofit administration, budgeting and finance, economic and social development, strategic studies, globalization, crisis and emergency management, and more.

IJPA is preparing a Special Issue Symposium on Public Administration and Policy in Vietnam that will be published in Spring-Summer 2021. Manuscripts focused on various areas of public administration and policy in Vietnam are especially welcomed, and they can be theoretical, analytical, and empirical with sound scholarship. The Abstracts should clearly and briefly present: (1) a descriptive title; (2) a problem statement; (3) a sound conceptualization with theoretical grounding; (4) a purpose statement with research questions; (5) a statement of the ‘originality’ and significance of the paper; (6) a brief methodology (sources of data, tools and methods of analysis, etc.); and (7) potential contributions to knowledge in public administration and policy.

The country of Vietnam has gone through monumental changes and transformations since 1950, passing through the long period of the world-wide known Vietnam War of the 1960s and 1970s, followed by the major changes politically, economically, culturally, strategically, and administratively as well as regionally and internationally. This Special Issue Symposium of IJPA is focused on these and other related areas of Vietnam. Suggested areas of interest include, but not limited to, the following topics:

  1. National governance quality
  2. Innovation in public administration
  3. Institutional environment
  4. Managing public infrastructure
  5. Leadership and accountability in public sector
  6. Public support schemes
  7. Political and economic uncertainties
  8. Anti-corruption measure and accountability
  9. Ethics and Integrity in Public Service
  10. SMEs performance
  11. SOEs, non-profit, and NGO performance
  12. Public Financial Management and Public Procurement
  13. Leadership Succession and Development
  14. E-Government and E-Administration
  15. Emergency/Disaster Management
