Expert Review of Molecular Diagnostics – Point of care molecular testing for infectious diseases: in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic
About the special issue
As part of the Expert Collection Editorial Calendar 2023, Expert Review of Molecular Diagnostics and Guest Advisor Professor Barbara Van Der Pol (University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA) are proud to announce an upcoming special issue on ‘Point-of-care molecular testing for infectious diseases: in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic’. Throughout the pandemic, point-of-care (POC) testing has proven and continues to establish itself as crucial tool in controlling disease outbreaks. Following the research and development poured into POC testing throughout the pandemic, it is anticipated that the revolution of self-testing has only just started.
This special issue will highlight where POC testing can be further utilised against infectious diseases, including coronavirus, HIV, sexually transmitted infections, and malaria. The issue welcomes authors to submit relevant editorials, interviews and review articles, and also relevant original research on point of care testing for infectious diseases. The benefit of publishing as part of a special issue is that the articles included often receive more views and higher citation numbers.
If you are interested in contributing, please get in touch with the journals Commissioning Editor, Edward Spofford, who will be happy to assist.
