          Babette Zemel is a professor of Paediatrics the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and Director of the Nutrition and Growth Laboratory at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received her PhD in Biological Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 after completing fieldwork in highland Papua New Guinea. She joined the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 1991, where she has been conducting research and training in child growth and nutrition for the past 30 years. She has been an editor of the Annals of Human Biology since 2010.
