Adaptive Motion of Animals and Machines
Advanced Robotics Special Issue Call for Papers

Adaptive behavior is a meeting point between animal and machine intelligence. Engineers can realize adaptive robots by mimicking animals, and biologist can understand the adaptive control of animals using animal-like robots in a constructive approach. Fusing the disciplines of biology with engineering combines biological and technical tools that help formulate and test hypotheses on both machine and animals intelligence.
This special issue strongly focuses on early and promising findings/achievements in this interdisciplinary field. We are accepting interdisciplinary papers generated from the interaction between engineers and biologists, which sometimes may not be accepted in the traditional mono-disciplinary journal. We would rather focus on new ideas generated among several fields related to adaptive intelligence.
The full-length manuscript (either PDF file or MS word file) should be sent by November 30, 2019 to the office of Advanced Robotics, the Robotics Society of Japan through the website of Advanced Robotics (http://www.rsj.or.jp/ar/submission). Instructions for authors and example manuscript template are available on the website, too.
