Earth and Environmental Sciences
Taylor & Francis
Welcome to the Taylor & Francis Earth and Environmental Science Hub.
Taylor & Francis is proud to support and amplify research that is designed to address many of the greatest needs affecting our global society. As recognised by the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals, research in the fields of earth and environmental science has a tremendously important part to play in combating climate change and inequality, and in delivering prosperity for our planet. In this context, Taylor & Francis publishes a broad range of journals across the earth and environmental sciences, which address key issues, such as clean water and sanitation (SDG6), sustainable cities and communities (SDG11), climate action (SDG13), life below water (SDG14), and life on land (SDG15).

Taylor & Francis’ geoscience journals cover all aspects of geoscience including but not limited to geology, geophysics, geochemistry, minerology, geography, geohazards, geodesy, meteorology, oceanography, and environmental geoscience. Through disseminating experimental and theoretical researches in geoscience, the portfolio facilitates the understanding on the Earth planet and provides potential solutions for human beings to achieve sustainable development in the context of an evolving Earth habitat.
Taylor & Francis publishes a broad portfolio of journals that are concerned with the sensing, mapping, and monitoring of planet Earth’s physical, chemical, and biological systems. Earth Observation (EO), which involves monitoring and assessing changes in the natural and man-made environments by using remote sensing, GIS, and cartographic techniques and tools, is becoming increasingly important, owing to the dramatic changes that our civilization is having on the global environment. Our collection of EO journals are concerned with better understanding our planet to provide a framework that can support the best possible governmental and intergovernmental decision-making and safeguard a sustainable future for our planet.
WATER SCIENCE & RESOURCES
Working with society and association partners, Taylor & Francis publish water science journals which serve and amplify research communities across hydrology, hydraulic engineering, limnology, oceanography, water resources management, aquatic ecosystems and ecological subdisciplines. The combined efforts of these journals can help bring us closer to meeting the UN targets for Sustainable Development Goal 6. These targets include clean and safe water for all, integrated water resources management and the protection and restoration of water-related ecosystems.
Taylor & Francis publish a wide variety of Environmental Science journals that cover topics such as climate change, sustainability, pollution and waste management, risk assessment, Bioremediation, soil and land use. In these times of heightened awareness of our impact on the Earth, its climate and the biosphere we share with all living beings and matter, this research is essential to furthering the scientific community’s knowledge. Our collection of Environmental Science journals contain both Open Select and Fully Open Access journals and covers many of the different UN SDGs such as resilient infrastructure, sustainable consumption and mitigation of humanity’s impact on ecosystems.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & POLICY
In collaboration with our societies and partners, Taylor & Francis publish a portfolio of wide-ranging journals covering the breadth and width of Environmental Health and the effect governmental and organizational policy has on our health and well-being. Our journals have a place for both multi-disciplinary and highly specialized research and explore environmental hazards, toxicology and hazardous substances, occupational health, policy and planning, people and eco-systems and more. There are several options to publish Open Access, which will enable your work to be accessible to a larger readership and a wide range of researchers, policymakers and NGOs who will potentially influence future decisions taken by governments and organizations.
Taylor & Francis publish journals which span environmental planning and management, environmental economics, sustainability and sustainable development particularly for urban populations, and the communication of environmental issues. These journals engage the wide range of readers and actors involved in this research, including policymakers, practitioners, and those in related professions or pursuits, in international discussions to address key issues such as accessible transport and infrastructure which will be resilient for the future. Through this, the journals in this portfolio are working to build capacity for meeting the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals.
Taylor & Francis’s forest science journals cover all aspects of forest science from silviculture, forest products, and forest management to the economic and cultural importance of forests and trees. Discover our portfolio and find out how publishing with us can help to strengthen the impact of your research and reach researchers and policymakers around the globe.
