About the role
Political Communication is seeking two new Associate Editors to join the journal’s editorial team. Associate Editors work closely with the Editor in Chief to manage the peer-review process and render publication decisions, ensure consistency of editorial standards, and meet publication timelines and quotas. Associate Editors also help to set/update journal policies and processes. The editorial team comprises the Editor in Chief, six Associate Editors, and one Data Editor.

Political Communication is an international journal, published quarterly, that features cutting-edge theory-driven empirical research at the intersection of politics and communication. Its expansive subject is the site of rapid changes and pressing policy concerns worldwide. The journal welcomes all research methods and analytical viewpoints that advance understanding of the practices, processes, content, effects, and policy implications of political communication.
Key Skills and Attributes
Preferred qualifications include:
· Associate or full professors (or equivalent) with established expertise in at least one broad area of political communication research;
· Excellent scholarly discernment and familiarity with a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches to political communication research; and
· Strong communication, editing, and project management skills.
Scholars from countries, contexts, and populations currently under-represented in political communication research are especially encouraged to apply.
The three-year position will begin in January 2024, with transition planning in the autumn involving work with the editorial team. The position will be compensated with an annual stipend of approximately $1,000 USD (with slight fluctuations depending on the international exchange rate).
