About the role
The Editor-in-Chief, Jungho Im, and Editors of GIScience & Remote Sensing invite you to apply to become a member of the Editorial Board. We are proud to have an international and diverse editorial board and would like to expand the board to cover additional areas of research. We invite authors, reviewers and members of the GI Science and remote sensing community to contact us if you are interested in serving as a member of the Editorial Board. We are currently looking for researchers in the following areas: deep learning (AI, machine learning)-based RS/GIS applications; SAR remote sensing; spatial modelling (GIS); disaster monitoring, assessment, and prediction (e.g., drought, flooding, heavy rainfall, wildfire, earthquake); thermal remote sensing; data fusion and assimilation; atmospheric remote sensing (e.g. clouds, aerosols); ocean remote sensing.
About the journal
GIScience & Remote Sensing publishes original, peer-reviewed articles associated with geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing of the environment (including digital image processing), geocomputation, spatial data mining, and geographic environmental modelling. Papers reflecting both basic and applied research are published.
Key Skills and Attributes
Board members are ambassadors for the journal and help to grow the journal community. Some expectations for a board member include:
- Become a champion for the journal: promote the journal at conferences, on social media and within your community
- Invite submissions: Encourage submissions from early career researchers and experts in the field. Submit some of your own work to the journal
- Assist in the peer review process. Keep your details and areas of interest updated in the peer review system and review a reasonable number of papers each year.
