About the role
The Journal of Sexual Aggression seeks to expand its current Editorial Board membership by appointing additional members to join its existing Editorial Board.
Published in partnership with the National Association for the Treatment of Abuse (NOTA UK-Ireland), the Journal of Sexual Aggression provides an international and interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of original research findings, reviews, theory, and practice developments related to understanding and preventing sexual violence and abuse in all its forms. The Journal recognises that sexual violence and abuse is a global problem, and therefore wishes to include high quality contributions, written in English, from around the world.
The Editor is seeking editorial board members willing to serve a 3-year initial term with the option to extend the term for longer.
Editorial Board members will be expected to assist in achieving the journal’s mission by:
- advising on editorial policy, innovation, and future directions of the journal,
- acting as a reviewer for papers within their area of expertise (2-4 reviews a year),
- encouraging peer review for the journal through professional networks,
- suggesting topics for special or themed issues, or guest editing a special issue,
- offering comments on published content,
- commissioning high-quality contributions,
- maintaining the ethical standards of the journal,
- promotion of journal and publications via social media communication channels and other dissemination channels.

About the Journal

The Journal of Sexual Aggression provides an international and interdisciplinary forum for the dissemination of original research findings, reviews, theory, and practice developments regarding sexual aggression in all its forms. The Journal aims to engage readers from a wide range of research, practice and policy areas, including prevention science, crime science, public health, law and regulation, policing and investigation, prosecution and sentencing, corrections and youth justice, child protection, victim advocacy and support, clinical and risk assessment, and offender treatment and risk management. The Journal recognises that human sexual aggression is a global problem, and therefore wishes to include high quality contributions, written in English, from around the world.
The Journal of Sexual Aggression is published in association with the National Organisation for the Treatment of Abuse (NOTA).

- The capacity to devote time each year to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed.
- A commitment to engaging promptly and efficiently with Taylor & Francis staff and suppliers to implement necessary processes and improvements.
- A strong commitment to ethical rigour as well as knowledge of the COPE guidelines and commitment to ensure that the journal adheres to strict ethical standards at all times.
- A proven track record as an established or emerging key opinion leader and known figure within your academic discipline.
- Actively involved in growing and developing your academic networks through conference attendance and experience of networking through social media.
- A vision and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal.
