Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy is currently recruiting for Editorial Board Members and Peer Reviewers. Both roles are a great opportunity for researchers with a background in dermatology and cosmetic laser and light therapies, and who have the commitment, drive, and ability to contribute to the development and success of the journal.

A unique journal that focuses on the application of cosmetic laser and light therapies on the skin, Journal of Cosmetic & Laser Therapy provides a forum for stimulating and up-to-date studies demonstrating the wide range of therapeutic options for clinicians and surgeons involved in cosmetic and dermatological treatment.

The journal is aimed at dermatologists, cosmetic surgeons, plastic and facial plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons and all those interested in the rapidly expanding field of cosmetic and laser therapy.

Features include:

  • Cosmetic surgery, including facial rejuvenation, hair removal and skin resurfacing
  • Use of lasers and other light sources for cosmetic and dermatological treatment
  • Applications of peeling agents, fillers, injectables, implants and other cosmetic modalities
  • Topical treatments

Applicants should be able to demonstrate relevant research expertise and prior experience contributing to journals as a reviewer or board member.

Editorial Board Member Role and Responsibilities

Editorial Board Members have a critical support role in a journal’s success, and in partnership with Taylor & Francis, help shape its future direction by supporting the Editor-in-Chief. Members of the Editorial Board are expected to:

  • Submit their own research articles and review articles to support the aims and profile of the journal. We ask members to consider submitting at least one manuscript a year.
  • Occasionally peer review articles that fall within your area of expertise.
  • Suggest topics or special issues, and where relevant, solicit content for the journal, helping to ensure high quality contributions.
  • Promote the journal within their key communities.
  • Contribute to the setting of editorial policy and assist in updating the aims and scope of the journal.
  • Comment on published content and suggest future direction of the journal.
  • Maintain the ethical standards of the journal.

Peer Reviewer Role and Responsibilities

Engaged and enthusiastic reviewers also play an essential role in a journal's success. Peer Reviewers for the journal are expected to:

  • Respond to peer review invitations and complete reviews according to requested turnaround times.
  • Critically evaluate the validity, completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of a submission according to journal guidelines.
  • Uphold rigorous journal standards by identifying critical flaws and/or unethical research practices.
  • Remain professional and courteous throughout the peer review process.
