About the role
Taylor & Francis is currently recruiting for an Editor-in-Chief to lead a new, open access journal focusing on dermato-oncology. This role is a great opportunity for an academic with a strong research background in cutaneous malignancies and who also has the commitment, drive and ability to help develop the journal. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of a rigorous and proper peer review process that delivers an agreed amount of content of suitable scope and quality within an agreed publication timeframe.
We seek applicants who are particularly passionate about bridging the gap between oncology and dermatology, as well as those who are keen to develop a journal that addresses the needs of researchers of melanoma, non-melanoma, and rare representations of cutaneous malignancies.

About the journal
With cutaneous malignancies the most common type of malignancy across the world, it is more important than ever that we seek to diagnose and treat these malignancies whilst working to prevent their development.
Taylor & Francis plan to launch a new, broad-based, peer reviewed, open access research outlet, publishing the breadth of cutaneous malignancies including prognostic indicators and biomarkers, disparities in cutaneous malignancy distribution & presentation, and research focusing on rare malignancies such as fibroxanthomas and adnexal tumors. We aim to develop a journal that is inclusive to both researchers and clinicians and potential work that covers the multidisciplinary field of dermato-oncology.

Key Skills and Attributes

- Experience in academic publishing and familiarity with all stages of the process;
- The capacity to devote time each week to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed;
- The ability to read, summarise, and make decisions based on independent reviewer reports;
- A strong commitment to ethical rigour to ensure that articles are considered in a fair, consistent, and professional manner;
- A willingness to proactively lead the journal’s Editorial Board and to engage your academic networks to expand the journal;
- A vision and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal.

- Where you believe the field of dermato-oncology is going, and how a new journal will benefit the field
- How you would work in partnership with an Editorial Board to develop the new journal
- How you would promote the new journal and encourage submissions from international researchers
