About the journal

Gender, Technology and Development, an international, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal, established in 1997, that explores the linkages between gender relations, development and/or technological change. The objective of the journal is to provide a platform for original research and theorizing on the shifting meanings of gender, as it relates to advances in science and technologies and/or to social, political, economic, and cultural change.

GTD publishes three issues a year. GTD is a Q1 journal in Gender Studies by 2022 CiteScore (2.9) and our CiteScore has rapidly increased in the last few years. GTD is also indexed in ESCI, its 2022 Impact Factor is 2.5. We are hopeful of its continued growth.

GTD has a managing editor, who helps with the administrative and technical logistics of the review process and supports all of the editors in their work. There are two Co-Editors-in-Chief who are faculty members at the journal's host institution, the Asian Institute of Technology. We also have Associate Editors (AEs) who conduct editorial pre-review (also called pre-check) to ensure submissions are of sufficient quality to undergo peer review. The Co-Editors (CEs) are assigned submissions that have passed a pre-check for full peer-reviews on a rotating basis (and based on expertise), and make decisions for manuscripts to be accepted, rejected or revised based on double-blind peer reviews.
