Co-Editor-in-Chief needed for
Communications in Partial Differential Equations

About the role
Communications in Partial Differential Equations is currently recruiting for a Co-Editor-in-Chief to manage the pure PDEs section of the journal. This role is a great opportunity for an academic with a strong research background in pure PDEs, and who also has the commitment, drive and ability to help develop the journal. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of a rigorous and proper peer review process that delivers an agreed amount of content of suitable scope and quality within an agreed publication timeframe.
You will work alongside the current Co-Editor-in-Chief, Keshlan Govinder, who covers the applied PDE section of the journal. The Co-Editors will work together to develop, grow, and expand the journal.
This role has a start date of October 1, 2025.
About the Journal

This journal aims to publish high quality papers concerning any theoretical aspect of partial differential equations, as well as its applications to other areas of mathematics. Suitability of any paper is at the discretion of the editors. We seek to present the most significant advances in this central field to a wide readership which includes researchers and graduate students in mathematics and the more mathematical aspects of physics and engineering.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Experience in academic publishing and familiarity with all stages of the process.
- The capacity to devote time each week to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed.
- The ability to ensure all submitted manuscripts are considered in a prompt, consistent and professional manner.
- The ability to confidently use an online peer review management system and ensure members of the editorial team do the same.
- Experience with working effectively with independent peer reviewers.
- The ability to read, summarize, and make decisions based on independent reviewer reports.
- A commitment to communicating promptly, consistently, and professionally with authors during the peer review process.
- A commitment to engaging promptly and efficiently with Taylor & Francis staff and suppliers to implement necessary processes and improvements.
- A commitment to engaging promptly and efficiently with the Co-Editor to run the journal.
- A strong commitment to ethical rigour as well as knowledge of the COPE guidelines and commitment to ensure that the journal adheres to strict ethical standards at all times.
- A willingness to proactively lead the journal’s Editorial Board alongside your Co-Editor, including arranging and leading Editorial Board meetings.
- A proven track record as a key opinion leader and known figure within your academic discipline.
- Actively involved in growing and developing your academic networks through conference attendance and experience of networking through social media.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the open access publishing environment.
- A vision and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal.
