We are open to applications from all regions, with a particular current interest in candidates from the Arabian Peninsula.
The Associate Editor responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Section Editors and Publisher with your expertise
- Being assigned to, making decisions on, and managing new submissions
- Finding peer reviewers
- Ensuring that all reviewers and authors uphold the journal's code of publishing ethics
- Encouraging submissions from established researchers and promising new scholars
- Identifying strategies to enhance the quality and reputation of the journal
- Being an advocate for the journal in your networks and at conferences
- Attending an annual virtual Editorial Board meeting to discuss plans for the journal's development
You will also be encouraged to submit your own work to the journal, and to be involved in journal special issues and article collections.
Becoming an Associate Editor is a fulfilling experience where you will grow new networks, be at the forefront of research in your field, and gain recognition as a leading figure in your academic community.
About the Journal

Cogent Education is a leading multidisciplinary open access journal, publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed articles across the breadth of educational research. The journal is led by Editor-in-Chief Professor John C.K. Lee (The Education University of Hong Kong), supported by an expert international Editorial Board.
Our academic editors take an objective and constructive approach to peer review, ensuring each manuscript is evaluated on its own scholarly merits and research integrity. Article-level metrics let the research speak for itself.

- The capacity to devote time to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed.
- A strong commitment to ethical rigour as well as knowledge of the COPE guidelines and commitment to ensure that the journal adheres to strict ethical standards at all times.
- An established or emerging publication record within your academic discipline.
- Actively involved in growing and developing your academic networks through conference attendance and experience of networking through social media.
- A vision and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal.
