The Associate Editor responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Section Editors and Publisher with your expertise
- Being assigned to, making decisions on, and managing new submissions
- Finding peer reviewers
- Ensuring that all reviewers and authors uphold the journal's code of publishing ethics
- Encouraging submissions from established researchers and promising new scholars
- Identifying strategies to enhance the quality and reputation of the journal
- Being an advocate for the journal in your networks and at conferences
- Attending an annual virtual Editorial Board meeting to discuss plans for the journal's development
About the Journal

Annals of Medicine is a peer-reviewed, open access journal publishing across Medicine and Health. The Journal considers research that spans from Translational Medicine to Clinical Practice and encourages collaboration across therapy areas. Annals of Medicine is the home for researchers dedicated to supporting medical professionals in advancing practice.
The Journal considers Original Research, Review Articles, Clinical Trials, Protocols, Case Series and Commentaries. The Journal also welcomes the submission of negative and null results and reproducibility studies. Letters to the Editor are also considered and should discuss an analysis of an article previously published in Annals of Medicine. All material submitted to Annals of Medicine will be assessed by our expert team, with decisions made on the basis of scientific rigor regardless of the perceived significance of research findings.

- The capacity to devote time to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed.
- A strong commitment to ethical rigour as well as knowledge of the COPE guidelines and commitment to ensure that the journal adheres to strict ethical standards at all times.
- An established or emerging publication record within your academic discipline.
- Actively involved in growing and developing your academic networks through conference attendance and experience of networking through social media.
- A vision and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal.
