About the role

Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy is currently recruiting for a new Associate Editor and Editorial Board Members.

The Associate Editor role is a great opportunity for an academic with a strong research background in drug development or industrial pharmacy, and who also has the commitment, drive and ability to help develop the journal. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of a rigorous and proper peer review process of submitted manuscripts. Becoming an editor of a journal is a rewarding and fulfilling experience where you have the opportunity to build your own networks, develop and promote the research in your field, and be recognized as a leading figure within the academic community.

Becoming an Editorial Board Member involves completing reviews for the journal within your area of expertise, submitting your own relevant research to the journal, promoting the journal among your network and at relevant conferences, and attending annual Editorial Board meetings.

The aim of Drug Development and Industrial Pharmacy is to publish novel, original, peer-reviewed research and review manuscripts related to pharmaceutical science research, specifically in the fields of nanomedicines, formulation, development and delivery technologies, biopharmaceuticals, new material development and processing technology advancement. Research papers must be hypothesis driven and emphasize innovative breakthrough topics. Timely critical review papers within the journal scope are also welcomed.

  • The capacity to devote time each week to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • Some level of experience of the academic publishing process, either as an author, reviewer or Editorial Board Member
  • The ability to ensure all submitted manuscripts are considered in a prompt, consistent and professional manner.
  • The ability to read, summarize, and make decisions based on independent reviewer reports.
  • A commitment to communicating promptly, consistently, and professionally with authors during the peer review process.
