Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management is currently recruiting for one Associate Editor (in North America or Europe only) and Editorial Board Members (globally). This role is a great opportunity for researchers in clinical therapeutic areas, researching outcomes, safety, and programs for the effective, safe, and sustained use of medicines, therapeutic and surgical interventions in all clinical areas.

We are looking for an Associate Editor and individuals as editorial board members who have the commitment, drive and ability to help develop the journal. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the oversight and administration of a rigorous and proper peer review process that delivers an agreed amount of content of suitable scope and quality within an agreed publication timeframe.

Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management is an international, peer-reviewed journal of clinical therapeutics and risk management, focusing on concise rapid reporting of clinical studies in all therapeutic areas, outcomes, safety, and programs for the effective, safe, and sustained use of medicines, therapeutic and surgical interventions in all clinical areas.

The journal welcomes submissions covering original research, clinical and epidemiological studies, reviews, guidelines, expert opinion and commentary.

Ready to apply? Here are the skills and attributes we are looking for in a successful applicant:

  • Experience in academic publishing and familiarity with all stages of the process.
  • The capacity to devote time each week to the role, and to attend Editorial Board meetings and training sessions as needed.
  • The ability to ensure all submitted manuscripts are considered in a prompt, consistent and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the open access publishing environment.
  • A vision and enthusiasm for the continuous development of the journal including suggesting hot topics or specific authors to commission articles from. Providing comment on the direction of the journal from time to time and acting as an ambassador for the journal by encouraging colleagues to submit their papers to the journal and submitting papers to the journal.
  • The ability to confidently use an online peer review management system.
  • Experience with working effectively with independent peer reviewers and to occasionally peer review manuscripts.
  • The ability to read, summarize, and make decisions based on independent reviewer reports.
  • A commitment to communicating promptly, consistently, and professionally with authors during the peer review process.
  • Making editorial decisions on a subset of manuscripts and liaising with our peer review team based in New Zealand and working with our Editorial Development Team in their efforts to promote and advance the journal.
  • A commitment to engaging promptly and efficiently with Dove and Taylor & Francis staff and suppliers to implement necessary processes and improvements.
  • A strong commitment to ethical rigour as well as knowledge of the COPE guidelines and commitment to ensure that the journal adheres to strict ethical standards at all times.
  • A willingness to proactively engage with the journal’s Editorial Board, to include active participation in Editorial Board meetings.
  • Actively involved in growing and developing your academic networks through relevant conference attendance and experience of networking through social media.
  • A proven track record as a key opinion leader and known figure within your academic discipline.
