Note from the Editor
Ecosystems and People
Dear authors, reviewers, readers and editors of Ecosystems and People,
As you know, 2020 has been a challenging year in many and unimaginable ways. While the world is fighting the pandemic, many in the academic world have had to adapt to new modes of working. At Ecosystems and People, we have encouraged authors, reviewers and editors to prioritize taking care of themselves and loved ones before their journal duties. Despite the challenges, the journal is doing well and we are incredibly thankful for all your efforts.
We also encountered a challenge of a different kind this year: due to unfortunate health reasons, Berta Martín-López had to withdraw as Co-Editor-in-Chief in the middle of autumn, although she continues as an editorial board member. We continue to keep in touch with her and wish her prompt recovery. In the meantime, we are thankful that Matthias Schröter, who had been helping with strategic advice and administrative work in the editorial office for many years has agreed to jump in as interim co-Editor in Chief. Further announcements on the composition of the team of Editors in Chief will follow early next year.
Wishing you happy holidays!
Alexander van Oudenhoven
