“An article collection will provide a broad perspective comparing and contrasting the different biologics with respect to efficacy, safety, highlighting the efficacies on the skin manifestations and the comorbidities as well as the safety aspects. Such will provide insights in personalised care with biologics, optimising personalised treatment selection.”

What is the purpose and what are the benefits of Article Collections?

Article Collections highlight key trends and emerging areas of research in various fields. By grouping articles together within a themed Collection, authors benefit from increased visibility, downloads, and citations of their papers. Our open access model ensures accessibility to all readers, removing barriers to knowledge dissemination, which is particularly important for research that may inform policy and practice globally.

How do Collection articles differ from standalone journal articles?

While both standalone journal articles and Collection articles are publications within a given journal, Collection articles are showcased together on a dedicated webpage that includes the Collection description and information about the Guest Advisors. For an example, please see here.

Who can publish in a Collection?

Article Collections are open to all researchers conducting relevant research. Submitted papers will undergo desk assessment and rigorous peer-review as part of our standard editorial process. Articles will be published as soon as they are accepted (on a rolling basis).

How are Collection topics selected?

Article Collection topics are selected through expert suggestion and by using analytical tools to understand which areas of research are emerging and trending in a field.

What is the difference between a Special Issue and an Article Collection, or a Guest Editor and a Guest Advisor?

Our Article Collections are similar to traditional Special Issues with a few key differences. Article Collections welcome papers through an open call rather than pre-selecting articles, and articles accepted to Collections are published on a rolling basis, appearing online as soon as they are accepted. Submitted papers undergo the same rigorous peer review as a general paper submitted to the journal. Unlike Guest Editors, Guest Advisors of Article Collections are not involved in peer reviewing manuscripts unless they are an existing member of the Editorial Board.

Are there any particular guidelines for Article Collections?

Every manuscript submitted to an Article Collection will undergo full, independent peer review, in line with Taylor & Francis’ Editorial Policies. You can find more information about our peer review process here.

Guest Advisors and co-Guest Advisors have no role in the peer review process unless they are existing members of the journal’s Editorial Board and are already involved in the peer review process as part of their Editorial Board duties.

The Editor-in-Chief/s of the journal have the final decision on every paper submitted to the Collections; manuscripts that do not fit the scope of the journal or meet the standards for peer review may be rejected.
