About the Role
Journal of Applied Statistics (JAS) is seeking a new Social Media Editor to take on responsibility for running the Twitter account (@JAppliedStats) to promote the published articles in the journal. We hope the successful candidate will also consider how other social media channels can be adopted to share articles and promotions with authors and researchers interested in the application of statistical principles and innovation of statistical methodology motivated by current and important real-world examples across a wide range of disciplines.
The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in statistics/biostatistics or related areas. The successful candidate should also be eloquent and concise in communicating newly published JAS articles to the public. The candidate is likely to have experience of using social media channels in either their professional or personal lives. The successful candidate will be appointed as a member of the JAS Editorial Board and work with the Editor and Publisher to continue building awareness of Journal of Applied Statistics by connecting with the community online. As an Editorial Board member, the successful applicant will receive an online subscription and a 30% discount on Taylor & Francis/CRC Press books.
