Impacts of China’s Belt and Road Initiative on Global Logistics

China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has become a focal issue in international transportation and global logistics because infrastructure development and economic/transport corridors will influence in developing connectivity among countries along the Belt and Road. As a result, it then contributes to improve intermodal transportation system and global logistics because the two elements go hand in hand. The special issue on “Impacts of China’s Belt and Road Initiative on global logistics” aims to investigate the state-of-the-art understanding of the impact of the BRI on global logistics in association with maritime transport and rail transportation connecting China to Europe. This special issue is also concerned with applications of the BRI to a country or regional case study regarding how the country or the region react to the BRI to promote their logistics industry. The special issue welcomes the following topics.

  • Intermodal developments in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)
  • Impact of the BRI on global logistics and supply chains
  • Sustainability issues along the Belt and Road
  • Country or regional case studies on international logistics development related to the BRI
  • Maritime transport and logistics
  • Global sourcing and production networks in the context of the BRI
  • E-Cross border and single window system for efficient logistics development
  • Emerging issues in the global logistics by connecting China to Europe by railway transportation
  • Other topics related to main theme of the special issue

Tentative Key Dates:

The paper submission deadline: 1 September 2019

The final acceptance deadline (for guest editors): 1 December 2019

The delivery date of all the papers to the Journal Publisher through EIC of IJLRA: 15 December 2019
