Petroleum Science and Technology
Petroleum Science and Technology serves as a forum for the science and technology of petroleum by offering articles that relate to the scientific and processing aspects of petroleum.
The journal is of particular interest to the analytical chemist, and the chemical and process engineer as it covers the character, properties, science, and processing aspects of heavy oil, tar sand bitumen, and residua. Original research and review articles also address the environmental aspects of petroleum recovery, refining, and use.
The journal is peer-reviewed by international experts in the scientific and engineering areas that are relevant to the subject matter of the manuscript. Each manuscript is subject to single-blind peer review and is sent to two reviewers.
The Editor acts as the third reviewer unless the subject matter is well outside the area of scholarship of the Editor, in which case the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer. When the Editor receives the reviewers' comments, he assesses whether or not the manuscript is suitable for publication in the journal. Any differences of opinion between the reviewers and the Editor are resolved by e-mail or by telephone. The final decision is then passed from the Editor to the Author.
Petroleum Science and Technology receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their ScholarOne Manuscripts website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/LPET. ScholarOne Manuscripts allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform.
