International Journal of Cultural Policy
Annual Special Issue
Cultural Diplomacy and International Cultural Relations
Invitation to contribute
Since 2017, the Journal has been publishing an annual special issue dedicated to questions of cultural diplomacy and international cultural relations. Researchers from any relevant discipline are invited to contribute to this continuing series.
The distinguishing feature of articles published in the series is that they explore culture-shaping policies that target populations lying beyond the national and/or cultural ‘frontiers’ or ‘base’ of the agents devising them. In keeping with the aims and scope of the Journal, such policies may be explicit, in that their objectives are openly described as cultural, or implicit, in that the cultural objectives are concealed or described in other terms. They may be pursued by a variety of different agencies, including governments, corporations or other institutions. The historical range is not limited to any given period, but the Journal is primarily concerned with material that is relevant to the contemporary world and which contributes to a fruitful international exchange of ideas.
If you would like to contribute to this series, please visit our ‘Instructions for Authors’ and submit your manuscript. Accepted articles will be published on the Journal’s online platform within 4-6 weeks of the return of proofs and assigned to the next available special issue. As this will be a repeating special issue, submissions can be made at any time.
