About the Role

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for Managing the Editorial team and the following:

  • Framing journal editorial policy jointly with Taylor and Francis, working with the Editorial Team and Editorial Board on development plans and indexing strategies.

  • Ensuring an adequate flow of material to meet publication schedules.

  • Working with the Editorial Team and Editorial Board to commission and edit Special Issues.

  • Assisting in the appointment of other members of the Editorial Team for the journal.

  • Distributing promotional material for the journal at conferences and on social media.

  • Managing the peer-review process and delivering decisions on the acceptance or rejection of articles submitted to the journal via an online submission system in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring that reviewers and authors adhere to the Journal’s Code of Publishing Ethics.

  • Chairing Editorial Board Meetings.

  • The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in the peer-review and editorial process and is committed to delivering timely decisions in the peer-review process.

Your vision letter should be no longer than two pages and should cover:

  • Where you believe the field of Energy Research is going, and the journal’s place within it.

  • How you would work in partnership with the Editorial Board.

  • How you would maintain and increase the quality of submissions.

  • How you would work with authors.
