Nanocomposites for Biomedical Applications

Nanocomposites, composed of nanoscale materials embedded within a matrix, have gathered significant attention in the field of biomedical research. The unique properties and synergistic effects offered by nanocomposites hold great promise for various biomedical applications, including drug delivery, tissue engineering, biosensors, and diagnostic systems. This special issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for researchers to share their latest findings, innovations, and insights on the development, characterization, and application of nanocomposites in the biomedical field.

We invite researchers and scientists from academia, industry, and research institutes to submit original research articles, reviews, and perspectives on various aspects of nanocomposites for biomedical applications. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  1. Synthesis and fabrication techniques for nanocomposites in biomedical applications.
  2. Characterization methods to assess various properties of nanocomposites.
  3. Novel nanocomposite materials, based on polymers, ceramics, metals, etc.
  4. Functionalization strategies for enhancing the bioactivity of nanocomposites.
  5. Sustainable approaches in preparation and application of nanocomposites.
  6. Nanocomposites for controlled and sustained drug delivery systems.
  7. Nanocomposites for tissue engineering, including three-dimensional (3D) printing.
  8. Nanocomposites for biosensing and diagnostics in disease detection and monitoring.
  9. Toxicity and safety assessments of nanocomposites in biomedical applications.
  10. Challenges and future prospects of nanocomposites in biomedical applications.
