Mitochondrial DNA & Human Disorder

Mitochondrial DNA is considered as a Short, circular DNA embedded in the mitochondria that has vital function in various cellular functions and integrity of the mitochondria. Mitochondrial DNA encompasses 37 genes and is essential for normal mitochondria functions including oxidative phosphorylation, cellular metabolism apoptosis and regulating various transcription factors associated with replication, transcription and translational machinery. Mutation and damage of Mitochondrial DNA is associated with various pathological consequences and clinical manifestation of human disease ranging from neurological disorder, Alzheimer, Muscular dystrophy, type 1 diabetes, aging and cancer etc. This special issue of Mitochondrial DNA Part B: Mitochondrial DNA & Human Disorder elucidate current updates, molecular mechanism, cellular and functional modalities, and clinical manifestation of human diseases associated with Mitochondrial DNA and its mutation.

The articles are invited to contribute on following topics and title of the topic may not be restricted as follows:
1. Mitochondrial Genome: Cellular and functional aspects of Mitochondrial DNA
2. Cellular Dynamic of Mitochondrial DNA in human health & Disease
3. Mitochondria Anatomy and mutation in Mitochondrial DNA
4. Predisposition of Mitochondrial DNA inheritance and disease in human
5. Mitochondrial cardiomyopathy and encephalomyopathy
6. Mitochondrial cytopathy and type 1 diabetes
7. Mutation of Mitochondrial DNA in aging & Cancer
8. Clinical manifestation of Mitochondrial DNA in human health and diseases
