Advances in labor ward: from fetal monitoring to intrapartum ultrasound

Birth represents a unique and extraordinary challenge for humans. A proper medical care, support and monitoring during labor and delivery are crucial to ensure a safe and healthy outcome for both the mother and the fetus and to reduce the risk of adverse outcomes.

Recent advances in the labor ward have been focused on enhancing maternal and fetal well-being during childbirth. With the help of cutting-edge fetal monitoring technologies, such as intrapartum ultrasound, the growing widespread of these innovations is providing clinicians with an insight into the dynamic and complex processes of labor and delivery.

In the light of this, the Journal of Maternal-Fetal and neonatal medicine invites clinicians to submit original papers to our upcoming Article Collection focused on “Advances in Labor ward: from fetal monitoring to intrapartum ultrasound”. This Article Collection aims to explore and to showcase research, innovative practices and emerging technologies that are shaping the landscape of labor and delivery.  We welcome relevant contributions that explore the full spectrum of advances in labor ward care, ranging from fetal monitoring innovations and Cardiotocography interpretation to the novel application of intrapartum ultrasound with the aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest developments in ensuring the well-being of both the mother and the fetus during labor and delivery. Manuscript should be original and not previously published and should adhere to the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines; moreover, all article types are welcome.
