JISSN is a leading journal that publishes articles related to sports nutrition and exercise metabolism. We are proud to announce that we are planning a Special Issue (as part of the Article Collections) on the topic of Dietary Protein and Athletics, to be published later this year.
The aim of this Special Issue is to provide a comprehensive review of current research and evidence-based recommendations regarding the role of dietary protein in optimizing athletic performance, recovery, and health outcomes.
Submissions can take the form of a review article or an original research article that addresses any relevant topics related to dietary protein and athletics. Please visit the Journal's Instructions for Authors page for submission requirements.
Some potential subtopics that we are particularly interested in are listed below but are not necessarily limited to the following:
- The impact of different types and sources of protein on muscle protein synthesis and hypertrophy
- The timing and dosage of protein intake for optimizing recovery and performance
- The effects of amino acid supplementation on exercise performance and metabolic responses
- The role of dietary protein in modulating immune and inflammatory responses in athletes
- The potential interactions between dietary protein and other macro and micronutrients in athletes.
