Ethical and legal issues in elder care

This Article Collection will strive to identify and examine ethical and legal issues of interest to older people and those working with or caring for them. The scholarly content should promote and distribute knowledge necessary to progress and overcome obstacles this challenging area.

 This Article Collection will solicit (or consider unsolicited articles) on relevant areas including:

    • The rights of patients, advance directives, rights of older adults, autonomy/self-determination
    • Deprivation of liberty and safeguards, end-of-life care issues, mental capacity issues, assisted suicide, legal changes in the DNR process
    • Rights of older adults in long term care facilities
    • Healthcare rationing and ageism
    • Lasting powers of attorney

 We consider: Research articles, review articles, registered reports, brief reports, and case reports
