The global challenge of achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure remains one of humanity's most pressing concerns. International Journal of Sustainable Engineering invites submissions for a special Article Collection focused on innovative research addressing UN Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure challenges.
The Article Collection, edited by Editor-In-Chief Professor Shahin Rahimifard, will be included in Taylor & Francis’ SDG Article Collection Series. This series features Article Collections focused on ground-breaking research addressing global sustainability challenges while accelerating progress toward achieving the UN's SDGs. This Article Collection welcomes Research Article and Review Articles exploring:
- Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCA) – Evaluates environmental, economic and social impacts across a product’s entire life, guiding decisions towards sustainable production and consumption

- Remanufacturing and Product-as-a-Service Models – Shift the focus from ownership to usage, extending product life and encouraging reuse over disposal
- Advanced Recycling Technologies – Innovations in chemical and mechanical recycling help recover materials that were previously considered non-recyclable.
- Circular Economy - a model for sustainable circular production and consumption within an economy that involves sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, and extending product and material lifecycles as long as possible
- Industrial Symbiosis – Involves collaboration between industries where the waste or by-products of one become the input for another, reducing overall resource consumption.
- Digital Tools and Smart Manufacturing – Technologies based on Industry 4.0 & 5.0 such as IoT and AI, real-time monitoring and optimization of resource flows, and improving the resilience of manufacturing supply chains
- Sustainable Business Model – decoupling the economic growth from environmental degradation whilst maintaining ethical standards and safeguarding the future prosperity of manufacturing business
- Sustainable Policy, Regulation and Education - based on a coherent and coordinated framework at national or international levels as the key enablers and drivers for a shift towards a more environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable future

- Manuscripts should clearly demonstrate relevance to Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- Original research must include robust methodology and data analysis
