Cancer Radiotherapeutic Targets for Enhanced Radiosensitization and/or Radioprotection Strategies

Biologics: Targets and Therapy is pleased to invite you to the upcoming Article Collection “Cancer Radiotherapeutic Targets for Enhanced Radiosensitization and/or Radioprotection Strategies” led by Professor Shuyu Zhang, Professor Shun Lu, and Professor Wenling Tu.

Cancer radiotherapy, a cornerstone in cancer treatment, continually evolves to enhance its efficacy and minimize side effects. This Article Collection delves into the pivotal theme of "Cancer Radiotherapeutic Targets for Enhanced Radiosensitization and/or Radioprotection Strategies." Radiosensitization involves making cancer cells more susceptible to radiation, while radioprotection focuses on safeguarding surrounding healthy tissues. Understanding and manipulating these targets can revolutionize radiotherapy outcomes. From molecular pathways to novel therapeutic agents, this Collection explores the diverse strategies employed to augment the precision and safety of cancer radiotherapy.

The significance of identifying targets for radiosensitization and radioprotection lies in the potential to optimize cancer treatment outcomes. By deciphering the molecular and cellular intricacies underlying these processes, researchers can fine-tune radiotherapeutic approaches, maximizing effectiveness while minimizing collateral damage. This Collection aspires to contribute to the evolution of personalized and targeted cancer treatments, heralding a new era in which patients experience improved responses and reduced side effects.

We invite contributions spanning various subjects within cancer radiotherapy. Subtopics include the identification of novel molecular targets, exploration of emerging therapeutic agents, and advancements in technology facilitating precision treatments. Original research articles, reviews, and clinical studies are sought to create a mosaic of insights that align with the journal's commitment to disseminating impactful research in the broader field of oncology. This Collection aims to catalyze discussions and foster collaborations to drive further innovation in the realm of cancer radiotherapy.

Article Collection Guest Advisors

Professor Shuyu Zhang brings over a decade of dedicated research experience to the field of radiosensitization and radioprotection. Committed to advancing the frontier of knowledge in cancer radiotherapy, his contributions span molecular targets, therapeutic innovations, and the intricate mechanisms involved in refining treatment precision. As a seasoned expert, Professor Zhang has significantly impacted the academic landscape, publishing a series of high-impact articles in internationally peer-reviewed journals. His influential work extends beyond publications, as he actively mentors students and guides research projects, cultivating a new generation of promising researchers in the realm of cancer treatment strategies.

Professor Shun Lu has dedicated his research to the exploiting the mechanisms of radiation effect from novel radio-therapeutic technical on both tumor and normal tissues. Committed to promoting the popularization of new technologies in radiation oncology, his contributions including intricate mechanisms of radio-sensitivity, and clinical radiation oncology, intend to refining treatment precision. Professor Lu aim to illustrate the biological mechanisms of novel radio-therapeutic technical, provide more effective models to improve the translation of new technical transfer to clinical.

Professor Wenling Tu has dedicated her scientific research to the exploration of the mechanisms and prevention of radiation damage, focusing on the challenging scientific issues in the field of radiation damage prevention. These challenges include the lack of well-defined mechanisms for new radiation protection targets, the absence of efficient and low-toxicity radiation protectants for treating radiation damage, and the deficiency of effective monitoring methods. Professor Tu's aspirations lie in developing preventive and monitoring technologies specifically targeting critical molecules affected by ionizing radiation on tissue damage. Her aim is to provide more effective strategies for improving radiation injuries.
