Applications of robots, machines and apparatus in biotechnological processes and medicine

The subject of the Article Collection is applications of Biotechnological Equipment in the medical field. This includes its use as a means of providing and supporting higher quality research of biotechnological processes, as well as its application in practice and medicine. This includes robots, devices, theoretical models and their software and hardware implementation.

Biotechnological equipment covers wide areas for medical research and can lead to significant scientific and scientific-applied developments. Consider, for example, the application of robots. Unlike industrial robots, which operate in a deterministic environment and are widely used in practice, medical robots are new to the field, with most being at the level of experimental laboratory equipment. They must work in a specific environment with respect to an individual object of manipulation, requiring high precision, often exceeding human capabilities, for example orthopedic and ophthalmic surgery. No less important is the application of modern equipment in various biotechnological studies, such as Biomechanics, Rheology, Biorheology, Hemorheology. This allows the development of new methods and the achievement of new qualitative results as well as clinical researches of biotechnology and biotechnology equipment for studying various diseases.

This Article Collection is accepting original research articles on the use of Biotechnological equipment in medicine including the following topics:

  1. Application of robotics in medicine:
  • surgery
  • disinfection of hospitals, operating rooms
  • delivering drugs to patients
  • modeling and 3D prototyping in bio-technological equipment
  1. Application of modern equipment in various biotechnological studies:
  • Biomechanics
  • Rheology
  • Biorheology
