Bioactive and Biomedical Hydrogels

Bioactive and biomedical hydrogels have emerged as the most promising candidates for biomedical applications because of their favorable mechanical properties, biocompatibility, bioactive properties, and biodegradability features. Several preparation techniques have been characterized to generate bioactive and biomedical hydrogels, and a rational design in fabrication of bioactive and biomedical hydrogels guarantees successful biomedical applications, including tissue engineering and drug delivery.

The collection of bioactive and biomedical hydrogels publishes high-quality fundamental and basic research that covers the wide range of chemical, physical, and biological aspects surrounding the design of bioactive and biomedical hydrogels for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The goal of this collection is to publish research articles, short communication, review articles, and opinions.

Areas covered by this collection include, but not limited to:

  • Design of bioactive and biomedical hydrogels.
  • Fabrication methods of bioactive and biomedical hydrogels.
  • Molecules and signal release in bioactive and biomedical hydrogels.
  • Stimuli-responsive bioactive and biomedical hydrogels.
  • Performance and characteristics of bioactive and biomedical hydrogels.
  • Biomedical applications of hydrogels, such as drug delivery and tissue engineering.
