Alzheimer's Disease: From Pharmaceutical to Therapeutic Perspectives
Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder and the leading cause of dementia. It is characterized by memory loss and cognitive decline that may involve brain abnormalities like amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles. The exact cause is unknown, but may include genetic, dietary and lifestyle changes with aging. Diagnosing AD involves medical evaluations and imaging. Currently, there is no cure, but treatments can manage symptoms and slow progression. With an aging population, AD poses significant health and social challenges.
This collection aims to explore the potential of natural compounds in preventing, managing, and treating AD, a neurodegenerative condition with significant global health implications.
The Article Collection welcomes submissions across a wide range of topics, including but not limited to:
- The therapeutic potential of natural products in AD management.
- Phytochemicals and their effects on AD pathology, including cognitive function and neuroprotection.
- Ethnopharmacological studies and traditional medicine practices related to AD.
- Preclinical and clinical investigations on natural product-derived AD therapies.
- Safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetic profiles of natural products in AD treatment.
We welcome research articles, reviews, perspectives, short communications, data note, and methods.
