A Special Collection Dedicated to the Memory of Professor Minyong Li (李敏勇): Recent Progress in Drug Discovery, Chemical Biology, and Optical Tools
In honour of Professor Minyong Li, who passed away at a young age of 49, we seek contributions to this Article Collection. As is well-recognized, Professor Li made very significant contributions to drug design, drug delivery, development of chemical biology tools, and fluorescent sensing. Therefore, we seek contributions in any of these areas.
In seeking contributions in drug design, drug delivery, development of chemical biology tools, and fluorescent sensing, we are especially interested in primary research papers. Highly timely reviews are welcome as well, especially those that critically analyse the existing literature, instead of simply compiling information in a given area.
Please review the journal scope and author submission instructions prior to submitting a manuscript.
The deadline for submitting manuscripts is December 31, 2026.
Please contact Haoyang Yi (Commissioning Editor) at [email protected] with any queries and discount codes regarding this Article Collection.
Please be sure to select the appropriate Article Collection from the drop-down menu in the submission system.
Guest Advisors
Prof. Hao Fang
Hao Fang received both his BS and PhD degrees in medicinal chemistry from China Pharmaceutical University in 1996 and 2001, respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate with Professor Ronald W. Woodard at the University of Michigan (2001–2002) and with Professor Binghe Wang at North Carolina State University and Georgia State University (2002–2004). From the end of 2004, he joined the faculty of School of Pharmaceutical Science, Shandong University in China and now worked as Professor and Executive Dean. His research interests focus on drug discovery and chemical biology.
Prof. Xingyue Ji
Xingyue Ji received his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from Peking Union Medical College in 2011. He then conducted postdoctoral research under the supervision of Professor Binghe Wang at Georgia State University from 2013 to 2018. In late 2018, he joined the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Soochow University in China, where he currently serves as a full Professor and Chair of the Department of Medicinal Chemistry. His research interests include bioorthogonal chemistry and the development of prodrugs for gasotransmitters.
Prof. Yueqin Zheng
Dr. Yueqin Zheng completed his undergraduate studies at University of Science and Technology of China, in 2011. He earned his Ph.D. from Georgia State University, USA, in 2017, under the guidance of Professor Dr. Binghe Wang. From 2018 to 2020, he conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, Boston Children's Hospital, collaborating with Professor Dr. Daniel Kohane (Harvard) and Professor Dr. Robert Langer (MIT). The Zheng group is dedicated to chemically driven drug discovery, focusing on the development of next-generation prodrug strategies and molecular probes.
