Meet the Section Editor
Timo Partonen, National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Finland
Dr.Partonen is a Research Professor at the Department of Public Health Solutions, National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Finland. He received his MD degree from the University of Helsinki in 1990, his PhD in Medicine from the University of Helsinki in 1996, his Specialization in Psychiatry from the University of Helsinki in 1997 and his Associate Professorship in Psychiatry from the University of Helsinki in 2000. In 2012, his research project was elected as one of the '10 Success Stories in Health Sciences' by the Academy of Finland, and in 2015 he was awarded the Maud Kuistila Award as a merited teacher of scientists in the field of medicine from the Maud Kuistila Memorial Foundation. His research activities are focused on mood and sleep disorders, circadian clocks and the routinely emerging fluctuations in mood and behavior, as seen in winter blues and suicide mortality.
