Daniele Roberto Giacobbe MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Department of Health Sciences, University of Genoa, Genoa, Italy
Dr Daniele Roberto Giacobbe is currently an Infectious Diseases Specialist at the San Martino Polyclinic Hospital, Genoa, Italy. He is currently the National Representative for Young Investigators of the Italian Society of Anti-Infective Therapy (SITA). His main research interests include multi-drug resistant gram-negative bacterial infections, and the challenges of invasive fungal diseases in the intensive care unit. Dr Giacobbe has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and is an invited peer-reviewer for a number of international journals. He has received the National Academic Qualification as Associate Professor in Infectious Diseases (Italian ASN) and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Critically Ill Patients Study Group of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). Dr GIacobbe enjoys co-ordinating research projects and working within enthusiastic multi-centre, multi-national research groups.

Dr. de la Fuente is Professor of the Higher Council of Scientific Research (CSIC) and head of the Genomics, Proteomics & Biotechnology lab at SaBio in the Institute for Game and Wildlife Research (IREC), Spain, and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, Center for Veterinary Health Sciences, Oklahoma State University, U.S.A. He graduated in Physics at Moscow State University and University of Havana. He received his PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Havana. His research career has been developed in Switzerland (Institute for Molecular Biology I, ETH, University of Zurich), Cuba (Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Havana), United States (Oklahoma State University, Stillwater) and Spain (IREC, Ciudad Real). He has over 35 years’ experience in research, education and as principal investigator in research projects. His research interests are focused on infectious diseases, systems biology of host-vector-pathogen interactions, ticks and tick-borne diseases, Alpha Gal Syndrome, vaccinology and quantum vaccinomics.
