Marc Rendell, M.D., Executive Director, The Association of Diabetes Investigators, and Medical Director of the Rose Salter Medical Research Foundation, USA

Dr Rendell is Executive Director, The Association of Diabetes Investigators and Medical Director of the Rose Salter Medical Research Foundation based in Newport Coats, California. He was Director of teh Diabetes Center at Creighton University until their Hospital Closure in 2016. His current research intersets include microvascular blood flow in diabetes, skin manifestations of diabetes and diabetic neuropathy. Dr Rendell has published over 190 peer-reviewed articles.

Dr Ioannis Ilias, Department of Endocrinology, Elena Venizelou Hospital, Athens, Greece

Dr Ilias is currently a Consultant in Endocrinology at the Elena Venizelou Hospital in Athens, Greece. He received his MD and PhD from the University of Athens. Dr Ilias completed his specialist training in Greece and spent a year as Visiting Fellow at the Pediatric Endocrinology Branch of the NIH. His most recent research interests have included the iodine and micronutrient intake of pregnant women, gestational diabetes, metabolic and hormonal disturbances in pregnant women and critically ill patients. He has published over 188 peer-reviewed articles, 33 book chapters and regularly lectures at both the University of Greece and the University of Ioannina. Dr Ilias also works with a Greek-based NGO providing international humanitarian aid and support for socially-excluded people.
