We are seeking to expand our team of expert Editors and Editorial Board members and invite Expressions of Interest from passionate and experienced researchers with expertise in Open Research. Expressions are welcomed from researchers working in all Earth Sciences disciplines, including, but not limited to: Geology and Solid Earth Sciences; Geochemistry and Geophysics; Atmospheric Sciences; Oceanography; Hydrology; Palaeontology; Biogeosciences; Earth Observation; and interdisciplinary areas.
We are looking to further grow the expertise within our journals team, and welcome Expressions of Interest for the following roles:
• Editor-in-Chief: Responsible for setting editorial strategy, oversight of the editorial team, managing the peer-review process, upholding the Journal’s Code of Publishing Ethics, commissioning content and special issues, and ensuring timely publication
• Associate Editor: Works closely with the Editor-in-Chief to deliver the Journal’s strategic aims, arrange peer-review and provide recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief, and act as a champion for the Journal to build and maintain visibility within the research community
• Editorial Board Member: Advises the Editor-in-Chief on Journal strategy, reviews or arranges peer-review of manuscripts in their field of expertise, and promotes the Journal within their professional networks
Relevant journal experience should be outlined in your Expression of Interest, as well as your area(s) of expertise, recent publication history, and any previous experience in managing or working with diverse editorial teams. Please also outline why you would like to join the editorial team, and what you would bring to the role.
We would especially like to hear from researchers who are passionate about Open Research, including, but not limited to, Open Access and FAIR data principles. Commitment to research integrity, research excellence, and collaboration are also essential. You should be active in the Geosciences community, be confident to engage with authors and researchers to solicit the highest quality submissions for your journal, have strong organisational skills, and have the ability to foster positive working relationships with other Editors, reviewers, and contributing authors.
Interested researchers are invited to email their Expression of Interest (no longer than two pages) and a CV to Chris Freeman, Journals Portfolio Manager for Geosciences at Taylor & Francis, at [email protected]
All applications will be treated confidentially. Taylor & Francis will consider each application based on research background and experience, without regard to the applicant’s cultural background, nationality, gender identity, or institutional affiliation.
