This year marks the beginning of another exciting chapter of Asian Geographer, as the journal enters into collaboration with the Asian Geographical Association and the Asian Geography Specialty Group of the American Association of Geographers to publish more high quality geographical research on Asia and the Pacific Rim. To celebrate this important occasion, Asian Geographer launches its first Virtual Special Issue, ‘Asian Environments: Challenges and Responses’.
This Virtual Special Issue features 10 recent articles in Asian Geographer on the wide-ranging environmental problems facing Asian countries and regions, and the strenuous efforts to address them. They delve into the the radical transformation of Asia's physical landscapes from various entry points: tourism and palm oil production, climate change and earthquakes, and the various individuals and institutions shaping and shaped by environmental changes. They cover various parts of Asia, including Greater China, Japan, India, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, reflecting the expanding origins of the journal's contributions.
