Spatio-temporal intelligence is becoming a key enabler for the next generation of Earth observation, geographic information science, and intelligent decision-making.
With the rapid development of remote sensing satellite constellations, such as the Oriental Smart Eye, Earth observation is moving beyond data acquisition and information extraction toward intelligent perception, autonomous understanding, knowledge reasoning, and decision support.
This Special Issue focuses on spatio-temporal intelligence foundation models and their applications in intelligent Earth observation. It aims to bring together cutting-edge studies on theories, methods, systems, and applications that integrate multi-source remote sensing data, spatio-temporal knowledge, foundation models, and intelligent agents.
The Special Issue welcomes original research and review articles on topics including, but not limited to, spatio-temporal foundation models, remote sensing foundation models, multimodal geospatial models, vision-language models for Earth observation, intelligent geospatial agents, multi-source data fusion, spatio-temporal knowledge representation and reasoning, autonomous interpretation of Earth surface changes, urban intelligence, disaster monitoring and emergency response, ecological and environmental assessment, natural resource management, smart transportation, and related Earth applications.
Submission Instructions
All submissions will be peer reviewed according to the Geo-spatial Information Science (GSIS) guidelines. Submitted manuscripts should not have been published or be under review elsewhere. Prospective authors should consult the Instructions for Authors page on the journal homepage for guidelines and information on paper formatting and submission.
Authors should submit manuscripts using the GSIS submission portal. Please select “Spatio-temporal Intelligence Foundation Models and Applications for Intelligent Earth Observation” in the space provided on the submission form for the name of the special issue.
